Has the capability of filtering the air in a 20' x 20' x 8' shop in under five minutes. It can filter the air in that shop over 12 times an hour. Two easy grip handles are inset into both sides for ease of movement. Filters are easily replaceable, no tools required.  Good bargain and quiet too Aug 18, 2008
This is my second airfilter for fine dust control. I am impressed that the unit is so quiet. Compared to my equally sized Delta unit this Jet is a whisper at even the high volume setting. Installation was easy and all the parts were supplied as specified in the Amazon description. This has turned out to be a winner.

Only 4 stars due to the vibration from the squirrel cage. Not as bad as some have reported and pretty much goes away on medium and high. It does a good job filtering.

Another example of fine Chinese craftsmanship. The impeller on the fan was not perpendicular to the fan motor shaft; therefore, the thing vibrated like crazy due to the wobble. I ended up taking the entire assembly apart and truing the impeller myself, which took most of the vibration and excess noise out the unit. It sure seems like there should be better quality control, it makes me wonder how high the quality of the components are that I can't see. I imagine it will do an adequate job of filtering the dust in my shop though.

 Disposable filters the same size don't fit Jun 07, 2008
I bought this unit partly because I saw that I could purchase disposable filters at the local store the same size as Jet says they are 1x12x24. Well jet's filter is actually a half inch smaller in each direction as a normal filter is. In other words a standard filter of the same size doesn't fit. Not sure what I'm going to do at this point, probably will fabricate a transition frame to hold the"bigger" standard size. Jet wants $15 for their filter and the local store wants $4 for the standard size. I take this unit to job sites to help keep the customers house cleaner.

I like this air filtration system. It performs well, is not overly noisey, the remote is very convienient, and being able to set it to run and then turn off automatically after you leave the shop is very nice. It accepts readily available sized furnace filters, so that is easy on your wallet. My only complaint is that Jet doesn't pack the units very well for shipping. The first I ordered was damaged so badly the fan wouldn't turn. Return and replacement was quick and easy, thanks Amazon! The second unit was bent again, but worked ok so I kept it. As the units are constructed of quality materials, I believe the damage was done with a fork lift, I don't think the UPS driver could do that much damage. I would heartily recommend this AFS in spite of the packaging issue, it is great value for your money.
